WhatsApp Messenger is working on the function of scheduled calls in group chats. Users will be able to select the name, date, and time of the call. Its participants will receive notifications about the creation and start of the call.

So far, the innovation is available in the beta version of the messenger on Android. However, it is not specified when the function will become available to all users,  the WABetaInfo portal reported.

At the end of November 2022, WhatsApp experienced a major data breach, with over 500 million user data put up for sale. Hackers obtained phone numbers that are tied to accounts – almost 10 million of them belonged to Russians.

WhatsApp at that time estimated the number of its users at 2 billion, that is, the data of a quarter of the users of the messenger leaked to the network. The database includes information about users from 84 countries.
