Check out these eight tips to help you manage stress more effectively:
1.- Deep breaths.
Practice mindful breathing by inhaling through your nose, letting the air expand into your chest, and then exhaling through your mouth. Whether you’re at work or running around on a busy day, taking 5-10 mindful breaths can calm your mind while you take a break.
2.- Schedule a time to stretch.
Instead of taking a coffee break, try making time for some stretching. Simple movements throughout the day can help clear your mind and ease muscle tension. You can do simple neck twists and arm stretches from the comfort of your office chair, at home, or on the go.
3.- Get organized.
To improve your mood, start by relieving your stress levels. Dedicate some time in your schedule to organize yourself: wherever you are. Taking a few minutes to put things in order each day can lead to a better mood.
4.- Try to do coordination exercises.
Staying healthy implies a healthy body and mind. Do exercises that allow you to work your upper and lower body at the same time, such as shoulder press lunges, they will boost your training! The next time you work out, try some moves that challenge your coordination.
5.- Smile often.
Your body releases endorphins in various situations, for example when you feel happy. Laughter can increase the release of endorphins (Manninen et al., 2017) . Take time every day to consciously smile at people. It can improve your mood and get your facial muscles exercised as well. Your smile can improve other people’s moods too, because they probably smile at you.
6.- Go for a walk.
Do you think that a two-minute walk cannot affect your mood or your health? Think again! A brisk walk, even for a few minutes, will do you more than good. Even if you have a few minutes, make time for a brisk walk. You may be able to help reduce your stress by doing something different (and getting outdoors if you can). Try to walk at least 30 minutes during the day.
7.- Work with your skin.
Quality skin care products can have a positive impact on your appearance. When you spend extra time on your appearance, it can help you feel more confident. Give yourself a two-minute mini facial at home, exfoliating your face with your favorite scrub and massaging in your moisturizing face cream. A facial massage with your favorite products is the easiest treatment!
8.- Try a fast interval routine.
Fast interval training can increase your energy levels by releasing endorphins into your bloodstream. Try this simple routine:
- Jumping Jacks (30 seconds)
- Squats (30 seconds)
- Push-ups (30 seconds)
- Crunches (30 seconds)
